As I understood silkspan does not really have a grain.
However, Japanese tissue does have a grain.
I believe it will not make a difference on a totally sheeted structure vs an open structure. I applied silspan on controline combat ships many moons ago didn't bother with grain. Of course, it was all one ciec per panel.

Thanks for the info guys. I have already applied silkspan to one of the BM wings. Seems light.
